Evac’s expansion programme continues to gather momentum, the latest acquisition being Virtus GmbH, a German company which specialises in spare parts and servicing of all types of waste, wastewater and vacuum sanitary systems for ships and offshore platforms.
Since 1977, Virtus has developed strong customer relationships with shipyards in the Elbe-Weser triangle which includes the ports of Hamburg, Bremen and Bremerhaven.
The company was previously the largest re-seller of Evac spare parts and now provides the potential to extend and enhance Evac’s offer in the German marine market.
“Virtus is a strong player in the important German marine market and we are delighted to have it as a member of the Evac team. The acquisition is another step toward improving our life-cycle service offering”, said Tomi Gardemeister, Evac Group CEO.
Virtus employs 27 people and has facilities for the storage and distribution of spares at its premises in Osten. Its engineering team focuses on the supply and servicing of vacuum sanitation plants and piping systems, ballast water treatment systems, waste water management, together with pumps and deck equipment. The company had a sales turnover of approximately 6 MEUR in 2018.
Following the acquisition, Virtus will retain its name and operate as a separate entity within the Evac Group.
