Evac successfully ended OnlineVac patent infringement case in Norway

Evac has developed a compact OnlineVac vacuum collecting unit for small and medium size vacuum toilet systems with several technical innovations regarding operability and maintenance of the system. Our customers everywhere, including Norway, have been very excited to welcome this unit.

However, the Norwegian company Jets AS (Jets) has claimed that Evac’s OnlineVac collecting unit infringes Jets’ Norwegian patent NO 314 734.  They attempted to stop Evac continuing the successful OnlineVac business in Norway. The matter was taken to court, and in January 2014 the Oslo District Court issued a judgment according to which Jets’ patent was found invalid.

Jets appealed the case, but have now withdrawn the appeal in January 2015. This means that the first instance judgment is final. Jets’ patent is not valid and Evac’s OnlineVac is not infringing it.

As a market leader Evac has developed a wide range of vacuum collecting technologies to match needs and requirements of each customer.  Evac is very pleased to be able to offer OnlineVac vacuum collecting unit as a new alternative to its Norwegian customers as well.
